Buildings in Waycobah First Nation

Learning Centre

This learning centre was originally our band office before we got our new band office. This building was constructed in 1977 and was extended around 1981 and then once again in 1995 for some finishing touch ups. Its life expectancy is 15 years. The size of this building is 450 square meters.

Environmental Depot

This was originally a warehouse that was constructed in 1978. The life expectancy is 13 years. The size of this building is 230 square meters. For many years the warehouse was used as an oyster farm. Just a couple years' back two men from the reserve took good use of it and made an environmental depot.

Waycobah First Nation School Elementary School

This was constructed in 1980 it has a life expectancy of 18 years. The size of this building is 2232 square meters. This is a two storey building on the first floor it includes 4 classrooms, Home Economics room, Resource centre, Dental Office, Industrial Arts room, Laundry room, Staff room, Principal Office, Mechanical and storage rooms.

This was constructed in 1972. It was originally our Fire Hall. It has a life expectancy of 15 years. This is fully equipped with gym equipment and now has a new tanning bed. Its size is 189 square meters.
Community Hall

Waycobah Community Hall

This was constructed in 1987 and has a life expectancy of 19 years. It is 714 square meters.

High School

This was constructed in 1992. Then re- constructed in 1994. 3 classrooms were added in 1995. It includes 6 classrooms, Science lab, Kitchen, staff room, computer room with library, principal's office and counsellor's office. It is 665 square meters.

Waycobah Administration Office Outside The Band Office

The size of this building is 785 square meters. It was constructed in 1998 and opened in January 1999. Its life expectancy is 40 years. Its ground floor is 367 square meters and the second floor is 418 square meters. This building includes Pre school/ day-care, which are 141 square meters, and the Health Centre that is 263 square meters.

Waycobah Fire Hall

This building was in constructed 1998 and is 228 square meters. This building was built to replace the old fire hall that is now the fitness centre.
