Profile of Pearl Googoo

Pearl Googoo (maiden name Bernard) was born May 24,1937. Her parents were Martha Wilmot and Charles Bernard. Her brother is Noel J Bernard. She lived in Membertou until she was five then moved to Wagmatcook for two to three years, then she lived in Truro until she was twelve or Thirteen. From Truro she moved back to Wagmatcook where she remained until she moved here to Waycobah and married.  

Pearl went to school everywhere she lived, and kept going to school until grade eight. She worked all her life whether it was house work or fishing for their food or even working in hotels. She enjoyed working at the basket shop the best. She worked there for a long time.

Raising her first daughter Wanda was Pearl's first and hardest job. When she was twenty she learned how to make baskets really well. She met Gabriel Googoo at the age of 17 and married him a year later on July 11,1955.

Pearl Googoo is a very nice and talented women with a kind heart.  She helps the community with weddings and important events. You can count on her for almost anything and for that she is a respectable lady.

She now has six children Wanda, Charles, Debra, Mary, Danita, and Angela. she also has nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
