
Mary Martha Wilmot was born to Flora Googoo and Louie Isadore on Februry 2,1916. She was born in Nyanza and grew up there. She got married twice. Her first husband was Charles Bernard. The children that she had from this marriage are Pearl Googoo {Bernard} and Noel Joseph Bernard. From her second marrage to Michael Wilmot she had a step son Peter Wilmot. She had five sisters Mary Susan Wilmot, Bridget Bernard, Gorgina Wilmot, Regina Bernard, and Anne Christina Bernard, and her brothers were Peter Isadore, Noel Louie Isadore. Martha had forty grand children and twelve great grand children. Her hobbies were bead work and basket making. She was well known for her porcupine baskets. Some of her work is displayed in Halifax. In her early days she made a living out of her basket making. She used to sell them to local craft shops.
